SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST – Division Schools

We are looking to hire a temporary 35.0 hour per week Speech Language Pathologist to support schools within our division, with the possibility of less hours depending on the availability of the successful candidate. This assignment is to commence April 16, 2026 and terminate April 15, 2027. This is an out of scope position.

Working with a strong and supportive Early Learning and School Based Learning Teams, under the direction of the Coordinator of Early Learning, the Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for supporting the programming of children with severe speech-language needs as well as supporting the embedding language programming for children in Early Learning to grade 12. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide professional development and on-site coaching for staff working within the Early Learning, Kindergarten and Division 1. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Early Learning and School Based Learning Teams to provide recommendations for universal, targeted and specialized services based on individual child and classroom needs.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology;
  • Eligible to register with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in the provision of speech language assessments, intervention and consultation with children;
  • Hanen Training in “Learning Language and Loving It”, “ABC and Beyond” and “It Takes Two to Talk”;
  • Experience and training in alternative and augmentative communication;
  • Experience working with diverse cultures would be an asset.
