TEACHER – Our Lady of the Assumption School

We are looking to hire a temporary 0.5 FTE teacher at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Lethbridge. This assignment may be increased to a 1.0 temporary and is to commence August 25, 2026 and terminate June 30, 2027. The successful candidate will work as part of our Complexity Team, supporting student learning through collaborative and team-teaching practices. Responsibilities include working closely with another Complexity Team teacher, leading small-group instruction, and providing targeted one-on one interventions to support diverse learning needs. This position is covered by the ATA collective agreement.
Our Lady of the Assumption School is an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school. The successful candidate will support learning through the Alberta curriculum, Catholic education, and the IB PYP framework, including inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, student agency, approaches to learning, and meaningful connections across subject areas.

We are looking for a dynamic educator who believes in supporting positive behaviors through effective classroom management, has a strong sense of inclusion, and is willing to build strong connections with parents, fellow colleagues and students.
The successful candidate will be open to working in an IB PYP school environment, where teachers collaborate, encourage curiosity, and help students take an active role in their learning. Familiarity with the IB Primary Years Programme or inquiry-based learning is considered an asset; a willingness to learn, reflect, and grow is essential.
